Hello,

my Name Real Name is Vladimir, iam a clanleader of a css-clan and i search some People who wanna help me and my serveradmin to make a CounterStrike:Sorce Public Server with Hostages and Bombplaces. We have the Server but we need some Stargatemaps.
We have found some Stargate Maps from the Mappers Alliance but they are Zombiemaps oder Deathmatchmaps.
But we want a real Public Server and i thought, the people who make that Stargate-Mod they can help us.
The question is, if they want?

So, can you help us?

Hope you do eventually find some good maps though. Smiley

The only way of "opening" those maps is to decompile them, fix possible errors made by the decompilation progress and add hostages and bombplaces with Hammer. Anyway you aren't allowed to publish those maps without the original author's agreement. I'm not experienced in actually doing those things, so that's mostly all I can tell you.

First decompiling of Maps is Evil and stupid because the result Map is Simple Not possible to recompile, Second if you want stargate Maps do it Self, the Same with textures and Model.

As previously stated the best way to get the maps you desire is to have a clan member who can maps make them specifically for your clans server.

If you dig real hard you can find quite a few maps that where made for CS:S on the Internet. The last time I looked for them I found 6 to 8 that worked.

An alternative to using other mods maps you might want to consider is to run a meta mod server side plug-in called Stripper and then run other mods maps made for the source game engine.

The Stripper plug-in is a bit complicated but you can use it effectively strip out entities in the map that are not for the mod you are running and then add in the entities/functions you need for CS:S. I have used it for years to run maps made for one mod on another as a last resort to have more maps to play on.

It's still really map hacking though and is no substitute for making genuine maps for your mod.

When you use Stripper it's major downfall is the map can only be played on on the server where the required entities have been removed/added for each player for the mod the map is being used for. If a user tries to play on it using create game or in a LAN environment it won't work (unless they are running MM, Striper and have the maps configuration files used by stripper.

You might consider using Stripper as a substitute to get a few star gate maps on your CS:S server until you can get a mapper making them for you.

Good luck in your quest to get more CS:S maps.

Hopefully you can get one of your clan members to make some new ones.

I'd love to see some new ones made for the mod which would make me want to play it again!
